The Artist Associate in Accompanying serves as the accompanist for the Davidson College Chorale, the Choral Arts Society, and the Davidson Singers in rehearsals and performances, including tours and any off-campus performances. Additional duties include accompanying student performers in lessons, voice repertoire hours, chamber music, juries, and recitals; accompanying for scholarship competitions and concerto competitions, departmental faculty on-campus performances, and master classes.

A Master’s degree in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, or Collaborative Piano is required; a DMA degree is preferred. A competency in organ is highly desirable. The position requires a high level of keyboard skills, including ensemble accompanying, sight-reading from short and open scores. Knowledge of the standard repertoire and composers, especially in the vocal and choral areas, is essential.
